NEET seat matrices: read 2025 records and check 2026 rules

Understand seat-matrix fields, distinguish historical 2025 records from 2026 counselling rules, and check fees and eligibility by authority.

Published 4/10/2025 · Updated 20/10/2026

Keep the admission year attached to the record

The MCC UG archive separates 2025 seat matrices for AIQ, central institutions, deemed universities and other pools. These historical documents help identify the fields in a matrix. They do not establish seats available in 2026. A matrix, vacancy notice and allotment result answer different questions.

Read one row before comparing colleges

Field to checkWhy it matters
Authority, year and roundRules and available seats can differ between processes and rounds.
Institute and courseSimilar college names or different courses must not be merged.
Quota and categoryThe seat pool must match the eligibility you can document.
Notice status and dateA later addition, deletion or revised matrix can change an earlier list.

Keep the source URL and document date beside each saved row. Do not convert every institution into a simple AIQ/state percentage split; verify the actual pool in the relevant authority’s documents.

For 2026, read the revised rules separately

The MCC bulletin revised on 20 August 2026 distinguishes Freeze and Float choices, with different reporting and upgradation conditions. It also sets round-specific withdrawal and resignation conditions. That is why “joining any AIQ seat ends every later-round option” is unsafe guidance. Read the conditions for your allotment and the subsequent notice before acting.

The same bulletin describes MCC’s AFMC role as registration of interested candidates; AFMC conducts its own counselling. Use the relevant state authority for state counselling and the institution’s official requirements where applicable.

Make a family shortlist that includes costs

For each course, collect the official fee schedule, hostel information, deposit/refund conditions, service bond if applicable and reporting requirements. Mark missing information as unknown and ask the responsible institution for clarification. Keep affordability and eligibility separate from historical ranks.

A student and parent can compare this evidence together before arranging choices. Recheck the applicable counselling notices immediately before a deadline; this guide does not reproduce a live seat count or decide an individual’s eligibility.

About this revision

Revised to remove blanket later-round eligibility claims and keep admission years separate.

Sources checked on 20 October 2026. Dated facts describe the named documents; practical checklists are editorial suggestions. For a later examination or admission cycle, use that cycle’s official documents.
